With Navratri having begun in full swing, Raipurites and Bhilaians are soaking in the festivities already. The most exciting part of these nine days are the garba or dandiya nights happening in the neighbourhood, where you get to show off your dance moves. While these parties witness overwhelming participation and youngsters want to indulge in the fun that garba nights are, but with more than a dozen parties happening, it’s difficult to track down the most popular ones.

In Raipur
Samta Colony, garba ground
Popular as the oldest and the most happening garba place, it has been 27 years that garba nights are being organized here. So much is the vigour of the bright garba nights, that the place is now known as the ‘garba ground’. The music is played by one of the best orchestras of the state, while people sway to the beats. The celebrations have begun from the first day of Navratri, becoming more lively with each day.
VIP Road, near Ram Mandir
This place is famous for its celebrity dandiya as many Bollywood singers and TV actresses make an appearance here to add to the enthusiasm. Youngsters are especially excited for the disco dandiya and live band performance this year. There is also a sand art show on the last day of the event.
Indoor stadium, Budhapura
Perhaps the largest garba gathering in the city, this is a five-day long cultural extravaganza. Apart from traditional dandiya, there is fusion dandiya as well with a food zone for a complete party experience.

In Bhilai
Maroda
One of most loved places for garba and dandiya in Bhilai is the Maroda Sector. Situated right in front of a pandal, this particular place is well known for its amazing set up and equally good reception each year. The festivities will continue for all the nine days.
Sector Areas
Almost all the sectors starting from Sector 1 to Sector 10 have their own arrangements and garba set up for Navratri. Regular sessions of garba and dandiya continue on all nine days and begin around 7 pm everyday.
SSGI ground
For college students this one is the best place to visit for having garba fun with friends. All you need is an entry pass.
Padmnabhpur
Yet another good option for those living in the Sector area is an open for all garba night at Padmnabhpur. Organised by a dance and arts academy this place is all set to welcome garba enthusiasts for the remaining days.
